What is a Shaft Power?
A shaft power monitor calculates the actual mechanical power a motor delivers and trips or alarms on abnormal conditions — dry-running pumps, blocked or jammed conveyors, broken belts or overload — far more sensitively than a simple current relay.

Why monitor shaft power instead of current?
Motor current changes little at light loads, so it can't reliably detect dry-running or under-load. Shaft power tracks the real mechanical load, giving sensitive high- and low-load protection.
What does it protect against?
Dry-running pumps, blocked or jammed machinery, broken belts, overload and cavitation — protecting both the driven equipment and the motor.
