What is a Current Transformer?
A current transformer steps high primary current down to a standard 5 A or 1 A secondary so meters, relays and transducers can measure it safely. Choosing the right ratio, accuracy class and VA burden is essential for correct readings and protection.

How do I choose the right CT ratio?
Pick a primary rating just above your maximum load current (e.g. 400/5 for a ~350 A feeder) and an accuracy class to suit metering or protection. Send us your load and we'll specify it.
Can I add CTs without shutting down?
Yes — split-core (clip-on) CTs install around existing cables without disconnection, ideal for adding sub-metering to a live installation.
